The process

How it works

01

Tell us your question

A sentence or two is enough. We use it to confirm a session is the right fit before you pay anything.

02

Book a time

We confirm the scope and set up a video call or phone call at a time that suits you.

03

Have the session

Thirty minutes with your accountant. Bring a list if you have one, we get through what we can, clearly.

04

Know your next step

You leave with an answer and what to do next. If follow-up work is needed, you get a fixed quote first.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about advice sessions

How much does tax advice cost?

$75 inc GST per 30-minute session. Bigger pieces of work like written advice or restructuring are quoted separately as a fixed fee.

What can we cover in a session?

Typical topics: whether to operate as a sole trader or company, GST registration, what you can and cannot claim, understanding an ATO letter, and preparing for tax time. If your question fits in a conversation, it fits in a session.

Is 30 minutes actually enough?

For most single questions, yes. If we can see from your booking note that it will not be, we tell you before you book and either suggest a second session or quote the work properly.

Do I need to be an existing client?

No. Anyone can book a session. Many people use one to decide whether to move their tax work across.

Is this financial advice?

No. Sessions cover tax matters only. We do not provide financial product or investment advice.

Who runs the session?

A registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board. The same person who would prepare your return.
